Expatriation can be a very enriching experience that brings vital life changes. However, it involves as well a cultural shock and an adaptation that can be, in a lot of cases, difficult.
It offers the opportunity to grow in many areas, change your priorities and perspective, including giving a new turn to your life.
You usually arrive in your destination country with great hope and a certain uncertainty.
You begin in many ways an adaptation process that appears more complex that you had imagined and the challenges start to emerge…
Whether it is your first expatriation or the ninth, the cultural shock and the adaptation to a new environment can go downhill and you start feeling overwhelmed, stressed, frustrated and, for some, alone and misunderstood.
To manage your work timings and professional duties, you have to throw in more extracurricular activities or use the nanny more than you would like and the feeling of guilt is probably starting to appear. You are fearing the impact on your family life and your relationship with your children.
If you have left behind your professional career to follow your spouse, you are not generating income anymore and you feel trapped financially. You are suffering from the cultural shock and the adaptation to this new reality. Perhaps you would like to change that situation, but you do not know where to start or don’t dare to do it.
If you are a mother, you children are starting their new school, with its activities, school work and events. What used to work for you in one country is not in another, as they too have gone through a great change, a cultural shock and adaptation, not without difficulty. You want to help them, but you feel overwhelmed.
You are not finding the desired support with your spouse as he too is dealing with his own challenges. You feel that the weight of adaptation and integration of the family is falling on your shoulders. You try to support them in the best way you can but the pressure is making you set aside your own needs.
As an Expat Life Coach I have created this program to help you navigate your expat life successfully and put at your disposal my own experience as an expat, my knowledge and training as a professional coach specialized in expat women, so that you can reach your desired objectives.
We will work together in online sessions, where we will create a safe space where you can open up, explore and learn effective tools with which you will better manage the change.
I will help you eliminate the internal obstacles that prevent you from enjoying your expatriation. You will understand and manage your emotions, your own needs and you will improve your self esteem, self confidence and general wellbeing.
If you are going through a bad episode in your couple, I will help you reach a clear vision of where you are, examine all your options and possible paths forward.
I will accompany you in the process of reinventing yourself based on your values, life purpose, passions and strengths. You will leave behind your fears, the apathy and dissatisfaction to feel free and happy with yourself.
I invite you to a free strategic consultation.
During our coaching sessions, Patricia helped me identify clearly the areas of focus in my life and develop strategies to work with them. She has an incredible capacity to create a safe space that allows real personal development. The exercises that we did in our sessions really helped me to assess my life, not only in tackling the areas that I wanted to improve, but also recognize the parts of my life that I was satisfied with. As a result of my coaching experience with Patricia, I succeeded in getting a more positive, clear and centered perspective of my life. Thank you for everything Patricia!
Sarah – Full time mum
I would definitely recommend Patricia as an Expat Life Coach. She holds a realistic attitude and has a deep understanding of the mind and behaviors of people. She has experience as an expatriate and her help and focus are tailored to the needs of the client. She is very attentive and respectful. She accompanied me through all the process with gentleness when it was necessary, but also challenged me to do certain things that I didn’t dare doing and realize that I am much more capable than what I thought. Her help was very valuable for me and my family.
Sandra- Teacher assistant
A close friend, who had been a client of Patricia, suggested me to talk with her and I found Patricia very attentive, understanding and inspiring. Never before did I receive coaching. Patricia succeeded in motivating in a couple of minutes. She listens intently, she has a great ability to hold a mirror of myself, therefore increasing my self-consciousness. She did not resolve my problems directly, but rather led me easily in finding my own solution. She made me see things in a way I had never seen them before and, thanks to that, I value her greatly as a coach and I recommend her without any doubt.
